By Heather Foye- "working with PACE-Ghana was an incredible experience..." Fordham Global Outreach-Ghana team 2011 Working with the PACE-Ghana team was an incredible experience, and I am so glad that I was able to travel to Ghana. It was great to feel like part of a community while working on various projects in the schools, library, and hospital of Worawora.
LITERRACY in ACTION
PACE-Ghana has been sponsoring Adult education in Worawora, Apesokubi and Okrabi. Literacy classes are coupled with micro-enterprise, environmental preservation and health education training. While adult students learn to read and write in English and Twi, they also have a chance to participate in income generating such as farming to help them support their family. Currently, there are 50 and above students participate on a regular base. This project has been sponsor by ProLiteracy since 2005, one of the biggest and outstanding adult education organization in the United States.
